Our journey begins with excitement as we board the Coimbatore–Hisar Express at 6:30 PM from Calicut Railway Station. An overnight train ride marks the start of our unforgettable Rajasthan adventure.
We spend the entire day crossing states and landscapes aboard the train. It’s a time to relax, enjoy the changing scenery, and get to know our fellow travelers as we make our way toward the vibrant land of forts and palaces.
We arrive in Jodhpur early in the morning. After freshening up, the city opens its royal doors to us.
We explore the towering Mehrangarh Fort, visit the serene Jaswant Thada, Toorji Ka Jhalra Bavdi ,roam the grand Umaid Bhawan Palace, walk through the, and soak in the buzz of Ghanta Ghar Market (sadar market)Overnight stay in Jodhpur.
We hit the road at 7:00 AM, traveling 275 km through the arid beauty of Rajasthan to reach Jaisalmer by noon.
We visit the golden Jaisalmer Fort, the peaceful Gadisar Lake, and historic Bada Bagh. As the sun sets, we head to the Sam Sand Dunes for a magical evening of camel rides, folk dance, and desert camping. Overnight at desert camp.
After a morning stroll in Jaisalmer, we journey 160 km to Barmer, visiting a nearby border village close to India–Pakistan lines.
At night, we board the 9:50 PM train from Barmer to Jaipur. Overnight in train.
We reach Jaipur at 6:20 AM. Our morning begins with the grandeur of Amber Fort, followed by the elegant Hawa Mahal, floating Jal Mahal, and royal City Palace. We wrap up the day with panoramic views from Nahargarh Fort. Overnight stay in Jaipur.
After breakfast, we begin our return journey. Our preferred train is at 12:20 PM from Jaipur. If seats are unavailable, we’ll take connecting trains via Kota, Ahmedabad, or Mumbai.
The day is spent onboard, recalling memories and cherishing our experiences.
We are expected to reach Kozhikode by midnight, or early morning on Nov 28 if taking a connection.
